Hi, I'm Vicki
Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist in Haslington, Cheshire. Calm, practical, evidence-based support for the changes you want to make.
From the classroom to the therapy room
I'm Vicki Hawtin, a Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist working with adults in Haslington, Cheshire. My background is in education — I've spent many years helping people learn, reflect, and grow — and hypnotherapy lets me bring that same patient, evidence-based approach to the changes people want to make in their everyday lives.
Many of my clients arrive feeling stuck or overwhelmed. Together we work out what's keeping things in place, and use a blend of CBT and tailored hypnotherapy to help you shift the patterns that no longer serve you. The work is collaborative, practical and always paced by you.
I have worked with clients on many issues, including low self-esteem, anxiety, stress, phobias, pain control, confidence, public speaking, anger management and menopausal symptoms. I've created my own specially tailored hypnotherapy package specifically to target symptoms associated with the menopause.
I'm also a qualified Special Educational Needs Teacher, with over twenty years' experience working with children and their families. That experience has helped me understand many of the pressures and strains that working life and family life put on relationships and on the individual. Working in education for so many years has also shown me the struggle so many of us have with creating a work–life balance, and with finding the time, energy and support we need to look after our wellbeing. I will work with you to focus on your goals and reduce your anxieties.
Properly trained, properly accountable
Hypnotherapy is an unregulated field, so training and registration matter. I'm a Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist, registered with the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council and the General Hypnotherapy Register. I trained with the UK College of Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy, based in Harley Street, London, and I keep up with regular supervision and continuing professional development.
If you'd like to understand more about how I work, the What is hypnotherapy? page is a good place to start.

No two clients are the same
Some people come to me with one specific thing they want to shift — a phobia, a habit, an anxiety. Others arrive with a feeling they can't quite name. Either is a perfectly good reason to start.
Our first session is a chance for us both to find out whether hypnotherapy is the right fit. It's relaxed, it's confidential, and there's never any pressure to continue if it doesn't feel right.
